Mari Malm Mørkved

Mari hails from Trondheim, Norway, and comes from a musical family, where both parents are active in the brass band movement. A passion for brass bands has always been a big part of her life and therefore the decision was easy when she was offered the position as Project Coordinator at World of Sound, the leading brass recording company based in Wellingborough, which she started in January 2015.

Mari is a trombone player and graduated from the University of Salford in 2009 where she gained MA (Music) Performance. She was also the recipient of the Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust Award for Best Brass Player of the Year in 2007. In Norway, Mari has played with bands such as Manger Musikklag, Sola Brass Band, Ila Brass Band and Nidaros Brass Band. After moving to the UK, Mari played for Desford Colliery Band for two years before she joined Tredegar Town Band, where she currently plays 2nd trombone.

As Project Coordinator, Mari oversees the artwork for all CD and DVD projects alongside other administrative tasks.
